Glass, cable, and aluminum railings across the San Fernando Valley.

Anyone can quote you the glass. What decides whether a railing is still solid in fifteen years is what the posts are anchored into, and nobody can judge that over the phone. Somebody comes out, measures the run, checks what you have to build into, and writes you a real price before leaving. Image Outdoor is a licensed and insured contractor, family run out of Reseda.

  • Every post gets anchored into something that will actually hold it, and we tell you what that is before we quote
  • Heights, baluster spacing, and load rating built to the California code your inspector reads from
  • The visit, the measure, and the written price cost nothing, and nobody asks you to sign that day

What we install

Every job gets priced on the property rather than over the phone, because the length of the run, whether it follows stairs or stays level, what the posts have to anchor into, the infill you choose, and whether an old railing has to come out first all move the number. The estimate is free and you leave with it in writing.

  • Glass Railings

For the decks and balconies where the view is the reason you bought the house. Frameless on spigots or set in a base shoe, standoff mounted off the fascia to keep the deck surface clear, or framed if you want a top rail to lean on.

  • Cable Railings

Horizontal stainless runs on metal or wood posts. Keeps a hillside view mostly open for less than glass, does not show water spots, and stays affordable on stair runs where glass gets expensive fast.

Cable Railings options and styles →
  • Aluminum Railings

Powder coated and the lowest maintenance thing we install. Flat top picket, solid panel infill, or aluminum posts with glass set between them when you want the view without paying for a full frameless run.

Aluminum Railings options and styles →
  • Wood Railings

For matching an existing deck or a craftsman front porch. Vertical balusters, horizontal slats, or a wood frame with cable or glass through the middle.

Wood Railings options and styles →
  • Handrails

The graspable rail for front steps and interior stairs, wall mounted or on posts. Usually the fastest job we do, and often the one an inspector, an insurer, or a family member has just asked you to sort out.

Booking it takes about twenty seconds

Most of the work on your side is over before an estimator reaches the driveway. Here is the whole sequence from the form to the finished railing.

  1. 1

    Book the measure

Leave your name and number and we call to fix a time that suits you. It takes about twenty seconds and there is nothing to print or have ready at the door.

  2. 2

We measure and quote on site

The run gets measured, we check what the posts can anchor into, and we talk through the infill options against the view you are trying to keep. You get a real number in writing before we leave, and nobody asks you to sign that day.

  3. 3

    The railing goes in

Posts are anchored properly and the installation is load rated, which is the part of a railing you cannot see once it is finished and the part that matters when somebody leans on it. Heights and openings are built to code for stairs, decks, and elevated areas.

Yuval and Image Outdoor provided us with a custom gate, door awnings, and a handrail. Working with Yuval was very easy. He offered very creative ideas to flush out our designs. The work came just as designed and on time. His team was respectful of the property and never left a mess.

The Final Walkthrough

Every job ends with someone from Image Outdoor walking the railing with you, answering whatever is still open, and putting right anything that is not how it should be. This is a small family-run outfit rather than a call center, so from the first conversation to that last walk you know exactly who is responsible for the work and who to call afterward if you ever need anything.

Fair questions

Is the measure really free?

There is no charge for the visit, the measure, or the written quote. The consultation, the measure, and the written quote are free with no obligation to book. One visit per address.

What happens during the visit?

We measure the run, look at what the posts have to anchor into, and go through the material and infill choices against what you are trying to achieve, whether that is keeping a view, cutting wind on a balcony, or passing an inspection. You end up with a written price for the work as specified.

Why do you not publish prices on the site?

Because the number depends on things that are on your property. A thirty foot straight run on a concrete deck and a thirty foot stair run on an old wood frame are not the same job, and the second one costs more because of what the posts have to go into.

A contractor who publishes a per foot price is quoting the easiest version of the job and revising it once the crew is standing there. We measure first, and the written number is the number.

How does your price compare to the other quotes I am getting?

Bring them and we will go through them with you. If somebody has come in well under us there is usually a reason in the scope, and it is normally the anchoring, the glass rating, or the removal and disposal of the old railing that is missing from theirs. If their quote is genuinely the better deal, we will tell you that too.

Do I need a permit for a railing in Los Angeles?

Sometimes, and it depends on the height, the location, and whether the structure underneath is being touched. Guardrail work on an elevated deck, balcony, or stair usually falls under it; a handrail added to an existing entry stair often does not. We tell you at the measure which one your job is, rather than leaving you to find out after the fact.

How soon can somebody come out?

Call or leave your details and we will come back to you to fix a time. Install dates are the part that moves, because glass and powder-coated aluminum are made to the measurements of your run and the fabrication lead time sits with the supplier rather than with us. Booking the visit early is what protects your place in that queue.

Bring us the other quotes.

Book the measure, get the price in writing, and take as long as you want with it. If somebody else has come in cheaper we will show you what is different between the two scopes, and if theirs is the better deal we will say so.
